ManpowerGroup BeLux has been awarded the Platinum Medal – the highest rating –on the EcoVadis platform, which evaluates companies’ sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance. With a score of 87/100, ManpowerGroup BeLux ranks among the top 1% of companies assessed worldwide. This represents a remarkable improvement of 10 points compared to the previous assessment in 2023, despite the ever-increasing standards in this area.
Based on a rigorous methodology, EcoVadis evaluates the social performance of more than 150,000 organizations across 175 countries, using 21 criteria divided into 4 categories: Environment, Labor/Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The evaluation method—grounded in international sustainability standards, including the UN Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), ILO conventions, and ISO 26000 (CSR)—assesses policies, actions, and results (KPIs) for each of the 21 criteria.
“This EcoVadis Platinum Medal is a tremendous recognition for all our employees, for their dedication and professionalism in implementing the three pillars of our global sustainability plan – Working to Change the World: Planet, People & Prosperity, and Principles of Governance,” said Sébastien Delfosse, Managing Director of ManpowerGroup BeLux. “At ManpowerGroup, everything we do is guided by our mission, rooted in the belief that sustainable and meaningful jobs can transform lives and communities. Our plan aims to tackle the major challenges of our time and the world of work – from climate change to skills shortages – by focusing on areas where our actions have the greatest impact.”
In its latest ESG report, “Working to Change the World, One Job at a Time,” ManpowerGroup highlighted numerous projects implemented to contribute to a more equal, inclusive and prosperous world of work by supporting individuals throughout their professional journey. The MyPath program, for example, has enhanced the employability of nearly 1,900 temporary workers in Belgium through training and coaching. Meanwhile, Right Management continues to play a key role in career transitions, helping more than 1,500 people turn layoffs into opportunities through outplacement programs.
ManpowerGroup has also focused on young people by offering internships to 113 students and fostering the development of soft skills and entrepreneurship mindset through partnerships with the organizations Les Jeunes Entreprises and Vlajo. Additionally, Manpower Belgium has provided jobs to more than 416 refugees from 68 countries. Promoting safety and mental health also remains a priority.
On the environmental front, ManpowerGroup Belgium continues to work towards its global ambition of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2045. In 2023, the company reduced its carbon emissions in Belgium by 12%, primarily by accelerating the transition to an electric vehicle fleet. Finally, the group has upheld the highest ethical standards, earning a place on the list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the fifteenth consecutive year in 2024.
Sustainability has become a key differentiator for all stakeholders, from candidates and employees seeking greater purpose in their work, to clients aiming for better control of their purchasing practices across the value chain, and investors focused on managing long-term risks. These demands for transparency will continue to grow, especially in the near future with the introduction of the new European directive on non-financial reporting (CSRD).
